*Purchase Arrangements
A purchase arrangement is defined as a $500.00 non-refundable deposit on an aircraft. Unlike other sports, there is a substantial amount of time necessary just to educate a student on the sport & equipment available before he/she can even develop the necessary dialogue to determine his/her own needs. The $500.00 deposit shows us that you are a serious shopper & therefore makes it an absolute pleasure to thoroughly teach you everything you need to know in order to purchase your perfect airframe, engine & wing combination. There is no requirement as to choosing any particular aircraft or time frame since this will develop with your training & education.

Approved Aircraft
There are obviously other dealers, private sellers & used aircraft in the market. With respect to your safety & ours, we cannot promise that we will test-fly, service, or train you in an aircraft that is unfamiliar, unsafe or simply not equipped for effective instruction. "Expedition-Quality" is our credo when we refer to our mission, staff, equipment, services, events & facilities. And, due to the inherent risk to the team, expedition & sport in general; only dependable & predictable aircraft/pilots will be invited on our Aerotrekking & Cross-Country Events. Obviously, we appreciate & always offer priority of instruction, on-going support, private events, equipment discounts, facility usage, extended efforts to those who purchase aircraft & services through us.

Who the hell is my Instructor & what can I expect to learn from him?
We have several part-time instructors but Denny does most of the instruction himself. He has over 8 years & 2600 logged hours of teaching in trikes and another 1000 hours or so of Aerotrekking, Cinematography, Floats, Skis, and everything from advanced terrain flying to basic coyote chasing... He insists that the training must be fun for both student & instructor to be effective. After all, this is why we pursued the sport, remember? Nobody wants to be nit-picked & bored to death in this sector of aviation. We are here to build the best pilots in the country & expand our aerotrekking team. We are NOT here to waste their time & money. We realize that people will push themselves and the aircraft to their limits once they graduate, and it only makes sense to create a curriculum that openly admits this. Since every pilot has different needs, styles, & demands of the aircraft; we will cater to each student's needs differently while still incorporating the basics & essentials of safe aviation in trikes. Most people pursue Denny because they will need to be very self-reliant when they graduate because there is very little support available on a local scale for most new owners. We think flying is the easy part and students need to learn just as much about the machines as they do about flying them. As a matter of fact, dozens of people show up on our doorstep every year regardless of who they buy their equipment from originally because we know how to help with everything. Denny was the 1st FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) for Weight-Shift Control Aircraft in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. He was signed off by FAA Examiner Paul Hamilton in Reno, NV; a well known adventure/educational film producer and is the only WSC-Examiner contracted by the FAA to develop the Weight Shift Control Handbooks, Media & Materials for our sport. He had other options, but he chose to go to the most experienced Examiner with undoubtedly, the highest standards & most respected credentials in the industry. He looks forward to passing along this level of competency & philosophy to our clients in the FUN & Expedition-Quality atmosphere & equipment that Backcountry Aerosports will continue to be known for.
